Vision Correction LASIK is the most common vision correction procedure. Other procedures include LASEK, PRK, clear lens extraction, and phakic intraocular lenses. LASEK is a procedure for patients whose corneas are too thin, too dry, or have a shape unsuitable for LASIK. The LASEK procedure is quite similar to LASIK. In PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) an excimer laser reshapes the corneal surface; no flap is made in the PRK procedure. Clear lens extraction also corrects for nearsightedness and farsightedness by exchanging the body’s natural lens for a synthetic intraocular lens implant (IOL), and phakic intraocular lenses are used to correct refractive error too great for lasers. From LASIK laser vision correction to cataract removal, glaucoma treatment, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration, Park Avenue Eye Institute’s experienced vision specialists have the latest technology, training, and experience to help you see better. We’re committed to providing you with the highest standard of treatment and care, giving you the best eyesight possible. |
